How we use AI
We are open about where software — including AI tools — is and isn’t used on this site, because on a topic like this you deserve to know.
What AI is used for
We use software to help build the site, structure pages, and compile data from official sources into a consistent format. AI tools may assist in drafting plain-language explanations of how rules work.
What AI is not allowed to do
- It does not invent legal facts. Ages, statutes, regulator names, and helpline numbers come from official sources, not from a model’s memory. Anything not sourced is marked “citation needed,” never published as fact.
- It does not have the final say on legal content. Regulatory statements are checked by a person against the source before they are treated as verified.
- It does not write our safety information. Helplines and self-exclusion details are taken from the responsible organisations and verified before launch.
Why we disclose this
Plenty of gambling content is generated at scale with no sourcing and no accountability. Being clear about our process — and marking what is still provisional — is part of how we try to be the opposite of that.
