Editorial standards
This site is about law and money and, for some readers, about harm. That raises the bar for accuracy. These are the standards we hold our content to.
Sourcing
Every factual claim about ages, licensing, or law is tied to a primary source — legislation or the responsible regulator — and dated. Claims we cannot source are marked, not published as fact.
Legal information is not legal advice
We explain how the rules generally work. We are not a law firm and nothing here is advice for your specific situation. For that, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Human review of legal content
Legal and regulatory text is checked by a person against the source before it is treated as verified. We do not publish machine-generated legal prose as fact. Where we have used software to help compile or draft, that draft is reviewed, and the data-verification labels above make its status visible to you.
Safety comes before traffic
Help and self-exclusion information appears on every page and is never gated, never advertised against, and never placed behind an operator link. If a design choice would help rankings but obscure the safety message, the safety message wins.
No commercial pressure on the facts
Because we take no operator money, no commercial relationship can bend what we report. If that ever changed, we would disclose it here first.
